Croydon Black Boy Cans is a proactive, action-orientated community organisation which aims to provide Croydon’s black boys with educational opportunity, valuable life skills, a positive self-image, confidence and determination to succeed.
We seek to offer top quality mentoring and guidance in a safe and caring environment, where a boy’s all-round development is monitored and supported. We aim to provide appropriate challenges and work with parents/carers and education providers in order to develop each individual’s potential to the full.
I am pleased to say that the Croydon Black Boys Can project is managed and delivered by a team of committed and dedicated professional volunteer workers who have each fully embraced the project’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Aim and pursue excellence in all their affairs.
The Croydon Black Boys Can project operates on sound ethical and biblical principles and has many excellent features. The developmental programmes are flexible and tailored to meet individual boys’ needs, but often cover topics such as goal setting, dealing appropriately with peer-pressure, confidence building and black history.
We work primarily with black boys aged 9-16 years from a diverse range of academic, social and economic backgrounds, however we promote equal opportunities and celebrate diversity.
As a parent myself, I appreciate the importance of identifying, investing in and nurturing the development of every child’s unique and natural gifts/abilities and therefore we aim to find an area where every boy has the ability to succeed and let them know it.
I trust that you will find this website a useful source of information about the Croydon Black Boys Can project and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you to our programme.
